Light Therapy iPhone Apps Are Meant To Give Supplemental Light

Thousands of people have downloaded our light therapy apps and the majority of people like them. We do have our detractors, but make no mistake - these appications are not designed to be medical cures for light defeciency. They are designed to introduce an inexpensive supplemental light therapy source to consumers. We're hoping that consumers will expand their horizons and try true medicinal light sources, once they try our apps.
 
While our apps do provide mild benefits to users, modern medicinal light therapy devices offer a much wider range of health benefits. There are a handful of companies offering medical grade light therapy devices that work wonders, but because the technology is expensive - so are their devices. By introducing consumers to light therapy via the iPhone, we're hoping to expand the market and eventually bring the costs down for traditional medical light therapy devices. Our objective is to give iPhone users a "sneak peak" at what light therapy can do on a beginner's level. Our goal is to help manufacturers of traditional medical light therapy devices to expand their market and lower their costs to consumers.
 
As LED technology on mobile phones continues to expand, it's our hope that researchers in this field will develop more effective applications as the science improves. Most smart phones presently use LED (Light Emmiting Diodes) to provide backlight for traditional LCD screens, but new technology is progressing toward OLED (Organic Light Emmiting Diodes) that can provide more powerful benefits in a smaller package. Just as the "Model T" was not the best car, it was the first affordable mass produced automobile. That first mass produced car empowered engineers to create even better vehicles. The same holds true with our light therapy applications designed for mobile phones and netbooks. As the technology grows, Light therapy applications will become more effective over time, but someone has to spark the movement toward new research. That's our aim as the first developer of mobile phone light therapy applications.
 
If a user gets only a 10% improvement from using our phone applications, then we've done our job to promote the future expansion of this important technology. Light therapy is a cutting edge technology that has been proven to provide true health benefits for more than twenty years. As that technology expands, mobile phones and netbooks could eventually provide medical grade light therapy to consumers suffering from a variety of light defeciency conditions.
